Samantha Canter, LMFT, PMH-C #114626
(She/Her)
Over the last ten years Samantha has gained experience working in a wide variety of settings including hospitals (both inpatient and outpatient), homes, schools, and telehealth care. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families.
“Our thinking patterns and behavior don’t just appear overnight. There is a history, a story, a memory. Our ways of thinking and behaviors keep us safe. At least, that’s the hope. Together, we can be curious about what these patterns and behaviors are contributing to distress and suffering. Together, we will identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors and seek to understand where the origin may have come from and what purpose it may be serving. Together, we will ask, are these patterns and behaviors still serving me?”
Her specialties include parenting, relationship issues, life-transitions, infant loss, job stress, anxiety, mindfulness, depression, perfectionism and boundaries. Samantha has completed advanced training in areas of trauma-informed care, perinatal psychology, attachment, and anxiety. Therapy with Samantha is modeled to meet your needs based on your history and present concerns through a practice called Feedback Informed Treatment.
Samantha’s style is warm and collaborative with a touch of humor. She’s kind and engaging, and will gently challenge clients to ensure they reach their goals for treatment. She looks forward to meeting with you.
